Look into your crystal ball and travel back in time to the 1920s, on the French Rivera, for an adventure with Colin Firth and Emma Stone in Woody Allen’s newest film, “Magic in the Moonlight” at the North of 7 Film Fest in Bancroft on March 10th.
The ever handsome Colin Firth plays “Stanley,” a well loved stage magician who spends his spare time exposing fraudulent spiritualists. The Englishman thinks he is ready to catch-out Emma Stone, “Sophie,” who is being accused of trying to dupe a family in the South of France, but before he can expose her ruse, the planets align and Firth falls deeply in love.
This period piece is a delight on the big screen boasting a buoyant script, great casting, twists and turns right until the very end. This new offering from Woody Allen is filled with romance, mystery and lots of magic.
And if you look into the future, a vision appears of happy film-goers at the Village Playhouse cheering for the on-screen chemistry of Firth and Stone.
So please join independent film lovers and be put under the spell of this delightful film on March 10 at 4:15 and 7pm.
Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at the door or online at www.boxofficebancroft.com. And don’t forget to arrive at the Playhouse early to visit the bar and enjoy social time before the screening. This is an age of majority event and all proceeds go to Hospice North Hastings.
