“Manhunt brings comedy back to Playhouse stage

Manhunt Anne Marie Nov 12-16 (002)-page-001Anne Marie Scheffler is single and she’s coming back to the Bancroft Village Playhouse for a different kind of hunting season.

In “Manhunt” Scheffler finds that her perfect life has fallen apart. She has a couple of beautiful children and a parenting schedule with the ex but she’s struggling with the awkwardness of landing back in the dating market. Does she really need to go through first dates and bad judgement all over again? Does she have to get on Tinder and Plenty of Fish? Scheffler provides all the answers and many, many laughs while taking us through the good and the bad of mid-life singledom in this dramatic comedy.

Scheffler’s show was a big hit with audiences in July when it ran under the name, “MILF (Mom I Love on Facebook) Life Crisis” and now Anne Marie Scheffler is bringing it back with a few new twists and turns that will fire off rounds of laughter and take shots at single life during our favourite season.

A sharp-shooter with comedy, Anne Marie Scheffler owns the stage in this one-woman format.

Born into a Polish-Catholic family of six, Anne Marie was always larger than life. In all the plays in high school, a cheerleader and school president, she got out of high school and hit her career running when she moved to Toronto. TV series, commercials, independent movies, improv and Second City later, she quickly became known for her hilarious one woman shows that still take her across Canada and the US. And when her life started moving in an unexpected direction – she turned it into the most hilarious rollercoaster of comedic storytelling.

Playhouse manager Heather Brough says she can’t wait to be working with Scheffler again.

“When people left this show in the summer they were still wiping tears away from their faces,” Brough recalls. “So when we were trying to plan a special night out for those who get left behind in hunting season – we immediately thought of Anne Marie!”

On Nov. 12 everyone looking for love and laughs is invited to the Village Playhouse in Bancroft for this delightful comedy. Tickets are $30 and available online at boxofficebancroft.com, at Harvest Moon, Posies and at the Hospice House. This is a licensed event and there is an adult content warning.
