There’s no better way to celebrate the holidays than to gather with friends from the community to share music, stories and the joy of seasonal spirit so that’s what the Village Playhouse team and Santa himself have planned for Saturday Dec. 3rd.
“A Village Playhouse Christmas,” offers a fun night out for those looking to get in the Christmas Spirit and built 100 per cent around local talent, with Santa’s help, it promises to be a variety show to delight all members of the audience.
From the beautiful vocals of Camaraderie to our local bell choir, The Joyful Ringers, music will fill the theatre and of course, the audience will be invited to sing along. Dave Drennan will be sharing holiday stories and there will be dramatic performances from Dianne, Carson and Sydney Winmill. Jewlian Rodrigues will share beautiful vocals, Mathiew Childs will be playing the saxophone and Barb Shaw will keep the show rolling as the master of ceremonies.
Playhouse manager Heather Brough has been working with Santa Claus to put the show together and she says it will help people connect during the holidays.
“This is a show about the talent we have right here in this amazing community of ours,” Brough says. “It’s a magical time of year so we’re inviting people to come to the show, sing loudly and enjoy that feeling of connecting with others. It’s been a great line-up to put together and Santa has been generous with his ideas and his time!”
Before the show starts, porch décor items that are part of the third annual Create and Donate event in support of Hospice North Hastings will be on display in the lobby and bids can be entered on all the beautifully crafted pieces.
“A Village Playhouse Christmas,” starts at 7pm but the doors, the bar and the silent auction all open at 5:30 pm. Tickets are $15 and all proceeds from the show and the silent auction will help pay for the new ground-floor patient suite at the Hospice House for North Hastings. Tickets are available at Posies’, Harvest Moon and online at boxofficebancroft.com.
Santa says he hopes to see all of his friends, naughty and nice, at this family friendly event on Dec. 3 at the Playhouse.
