Seven create Camaraderie for Playhouse audience

Camaraderie Oct 2017 (2)A few years ago, seven women started meeting each week to share their mutual enjoyment of making music. Despite their “mature” ages, part of the fun came from their resolve to push their limits by learning to play new instruments, harmonize, sing the lead and write songs. The seven realized the joy they were experiencing could be shared with others and Camaraderie was launched.

On Oct. 28th Pat Green, Claudine Crete and Charlotte Bigelow from Bancroft, Erin Morlock from Whitney, Marg Dearborn from Gilmour and Donna Peters and Marva Murphy from Millbridge will bring their upbeat, interactive performance to the Village Playhouse. With their acoustic guitars, bass guitar, fiddles, keyboard, flute, accordion, drums, rhythm instruments, mandolins and harmonicas, Camaraderie is offering a night of well-known tunes that everyone can sing-along with.

Camaraderie means mutual respect and friendship and anyone who has been at an event with these musicians will understand the power of this band’s name. The joy, laughter and banter that happens during one of their shows does not stop at the edge of the stage. Their shows are interactive and the audience is always invited to sign-along and of course, to participate in the laughter. An evening with Camaraderie is always one of fellowship.

138 (002)Each member of the band brings unique gifts to the group: Pat, her joie de vivre and drive; Claudine, her gentle spirit and energy; Marg, her dedication and song writing; Marva, her natural music talent and faith; Charlotte, her song writing and leadership; Erin, her talent at the keyboard and music arrangement; Donna, her harmonies and vast repertoire of songs and together, their love of making music.

Join the fun of Camaraderie at the Village Playhouse on Saturday, October 28 at 7pm. Tickets are on sale now at Harvest Moon, Posie’s, Vintage on Hastings, Hospice House and online at bancroftvillageplayhouse.ca. This is a licensed event and it is most certainly family friendly.
