Starting her career as a journalist, Barbara quickly worked through the ranks in the film and television business. Creating content, managing productions and creating promotional campaigns filled her time.
After working as a strong communicator and exceptionally organized project lead in Toronto, Barbara decided to follow a dream of living in the country, so in 2006 she moved to a rural community to continue her career in a consulting role combining her ability to communicate effectively as well as develop and deliver wellness related programming.
She acts as a new media adviser to a multitude of clients developing media plans, communication campaigns and some political strategy work. Barbara loves public speaking and stays up to date as a perpetual student, always tackling new subject material.
A new media junkie; she tweets and blogs. Barbara is also a certified coach, a Zumba and yoga instructor.
Holding three degrees including an Honours Bachelor of Journalism, Barbara has also enjoyed learning on the job. She won a Gemini award for the animated television show Angela Anaconda and she has received awards for volunteerism in her community.
Her tourism experience includes marketing and management of a resort property and she spent a year working as part of the Building Bancroft Project Team as the marketing and media relations coordinator. Most recently she works her communications magic to create buzz for not for profit agencies and internationally recognized tourism centres.
Barbara’s work ethic, drive to satisfy client needs and sense of humour allow her to gain consensus on teams and deliver results.
